Feminism, ethics, and geospatial data: A brief reflection towards their joint analysis
Geospatial data is becoming increasingly relevant in public discourse, whether due to contexts such as the fight against the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) pandemic, the struggle to defend territories and natural resources, or the increased visibility of feminist struggles worldwide. This research aims to develop an analysis of the production, consumption, and reproduction of geospatial data from an ethical and feminist perspective, based on a review of the evolution of discussions within critical geography, feminist ethics, and collaborative cartography.
Feminism, ethics and geospatial data: a practical guide of recommendations
Practical supplementary materials to the guide Feminism, Ethics, and Geospatial Data: A Brief Reflection Towards a Joint Analysis. This material is a guide of basic recommendations intended as a didactic support for the research project Feminism, Ethics, and Geospatial Data: A Reflection Towards a Joint Analysis. It can be used virtually or in print to promote discussion during meetings and group activities. The recommendations in this material are not intended as a guiding framework regarding the steps to be taken, but rather as a reflective path for both collective and individual debates that should be raised when carrying out mapping practices.
